Yoga

What is Yoga?

Yoga means “yoke” or “union”. As a practice, yoga teaches you how to synchronize breath and body often through sequences of poses. The ultimate goal of a yoga practice is preparation for meditation where you unite mind, body, and spirit. Yoga and meditation are time-tested keys for creating harmony in your mind, cultivating self-compassion, and strength in the physical and mental bodies. You can practice anytime, anywhere, and you will learn something new throughout your entire life! Katie incorporates many types of yoga into her personal practices and her classes.

Why Yoga?

Yoga is an empowering component to add into any healing or self development journey. During seasons of healing and learning, we learn to ask for help and receive. Yoga is a beautiful path for participating and applying techniques on your own so you can become both the giver and receiver in your practice for any level and stage of your journey. 

 

Yoga is a journey inward rather than seeking outwardly. You are more brilliant, intelligent, and powerful than you consciously know. Yoga works through your body to lead you through the depths of your mind into your spirit. Once you have this awareness and alignment on all levels, you show up in the world differently, and the world responds back. Yoga is an exploration of your own depths so that you can say, “I know you hurt and have joy because I, too, have hurt and joy in my heart.” Creating union in yourself creates unity in the world. 

 

Community, nutrition, purpose, nature, and movement are well-known pillars for longevity and health. On yoga retreats, you get to fully immerse yourself in an environment that has all of these aspects!

Public Classes

 

Katie teaches weekly yoga on Wednesdays at 2 Home Fitness in Concord, NH. She also can be found in the Sunday morning rotating schedule.

 

Join Katie for Yoga & Sound Meditation on the first Tuesday of each month where you’ll balance the body physically through postures, create peace in the mind, and tune up your energy body with crystal singing bowls at the end. Attendees regularly report how the relaxing effects last for days afterwards!

Intimate Retreats

Katie offers a few retreat opportunities each year for an immersive, community experience of yoga and nature together. See the Retreat page for the latest!

 

Special Programs

Starting in 2025, Katie is excited to bring you weekly mini-yoga retreats right at home using online platforms to connect you to your yoga practice and a wider community.

 

Private Yoga

Katie offers private yoga for events such as wedding parties, bachelorettes, retreats, corporate events, small groups, and 1:1. Please email Katie andara.balance@gmail.com with your event details and needs for custom packaging.
